Nestled within a small eastern Washington town called Prosser sits one of
the worlds foremost maker of premium wines. Winery founder Mike Hogue planted
the winery's first vinifera grapes in 1974 and produced the winery's first
commercial vintage in 1982. Since then, Hogue has gained national and international
acclaim for it's broad range of wines. Hogue Cellar's has built an outstanding
reputation by specializing in just a few wines: Red Mountain Reserve, Cabernet/Merlot
and Fume/Chardonnay. Grapes for the Hogue wines are but a small part of
the production of Hogue Ranches - a 1600 acre farm also producing apples,
asparagus, concords, and hops. The
Hogue Cellars' tasting room and gift shop features wine related gifts and
other unique items of Hogue Farm's fruit and vegetables preserved at their
cannery. The tasting room and gift shop is open daily from 10:00 to 5:00.
Group tours are available by appointment only.
Getting to the winery is a very simple task. It is located directly off
Interstate 82 about 29 miles northwest of the Tri-Cities, WA. Using the
Wine Country Rd. exit will lead you to this charming site. It is just one
of many wineries located in Eastern Washington. The wine industry is quickly
becoming one of Washington state's leading products and has won acclaim
nationally and internationally. For more information about Hogue Cellars,
